Lomo OKC 28mm f/2.4
Russian-built and unmistakably mechanical in its rendering, the OKC 28mm carries cool-leaning color and moderate contrast that drops away into the shadows with an unforced gradation. Sharpness sits in the wide-field with detail that stays honest at center while edges soften, and out-of-focus areas swirl and bend toward the frame edges in the way these older Soviet computations are known for. Point it into a hard source and it throws restrained, slightly amber veiling glare rather than aggressive streaks, holding image integrity even when backlit. Native mount and image circle cover Super 35 cleanly, with a focus throw that rewards deliberate pulls over fast operating. A first choice when you want geometric character and textured falloff on a wide — period work, dream sequences, anything that benefits from glass that renders rather than resolves. Lenses are not rehoused and can be fragile. Motors are not recommended.
